Biography 

Katelyn Johnson is a lecturer in the School of Engineering, specialising in Fluid Mechanics and Engineering Hydrology since 2017. She is completing her PhD working in an interdisciplinary space that combines engineering hydrology, hydrometeorology and climate change. She has 4 years’ experience working in industry in the fields of water engineering, hydrology and hydraulics.

  • WRC Project Number C2022/2023-00773: Development of a Toolbox for Design Flood Estimation: Accounting for Non-Stationary Data in Design Rainfall Estimation [2022-2023]
  • Integrating knowledge systems in flood-risk modelling for sustainable solid waste management and flood resilience in urban informal settlements in South Africa [2023-2024; collaboration with INR, funded by JNCC/DEFFRA UK]
