Siyabonga Ngcobo is currently a part-time MSc Hydrology candidate and a full-time employee of the Department of Water and Sanitation as a Production Scientist focusing on water resources protection. Siyabonga graduated with a BSc in Geography and Hydrology degree in 2013 and completed his BSc in Hydrology (Hon) in 2014, both degrees awarded by the University of Zululand. During honours, He was part of a large research team working on various topics that formed part of the Water Research Commission project (WRC REPORT NO. 2259/1/16) titled “Mgobezeleni: The Linkages Between Hydrological and Ecological Drivers”. His research interests include surface water hydrology (streamflow) and hydrological modeling. His current research intends to investigate the extent of hydrological drought impacts on water resources and availability on selected catchments within the Eastern Cape region using standardized drought indices and simulated streamflows from a hydrological model. Siyabonga Ngcobo is a registered Professional Natural Scientist under with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP).
