Biography

I completed my undergraduate degree in Agricultural Engineering. Thereafter, I pursued a MSc-Eng focused on parameter estimation for hydrological modeling. The key results from the MSc-Eng were techniques to derive curve numbers for the SCS-SA model. My PhD research is focused on uncertainty estimation for hydrological modeling. I have received the SANCOLD and NRF innovation scholarships during my postgraduate studies and I also tutored and lectured various modules at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

Qualifications

BSc-Eng, MSc-Eng (Cum Laude)

Current Research Projects

Improved performance of the SCS-SA model and development of a framework for uncertainty estimation for design flood estimation in South Africa using the SCS-SA model as a case study (PhD study).

Recently Completed Projects (2020-23)

Further Development, Updating and Assessment of the SCS-SA Model for Design Flood Estimation in South Africa Using a Continuous Simulation Approach (WRC Project Number K5/2926).

An Assessment of the Performance of Published and Derived SCS Curve Numbers for Design Flood Estimation in South Africa (MSc-Eng dissertation).

Hobbies and Interests

My hobbies and interests include reading, hiking, visiting new places and playing mobile games.
