The Kirkham Conference committee has met to discuss the fate of our Kirkham Conference 2020 and have concluded as follows:

  • The due date for submission of abstracts has been extended to 1 July 2020;
  • A decision on whether to proceed with the conference in September 2020 will be made in the first week of July 2020 and communicated through this web site. If the conference is to be postponed, a new date will be communicated at that time;
  • No payments will be called for prior to the first week of July 2020.

We hope you all keep well.

The Theme:

Soil Physics in Agricultural Production, Water Resources and Waste Management

With Agriculture, Ecology and now Mining heavily dependent on advances in soil physics, these topics will be included in a broad theme, suited to the region. Sub-themes are listed in the THEMES TAB.

The Date:
The conference will take place from 14 to 17 September 2020.

The Location:

The Skukuza Rest Camp of the Kruger National Park, in the north-eastern part of South Africa is the location for the meeting. The Skukuza camp, situated on the banks of the Sabie river offers an ideal game viewing location and a wide variety of game can be observed during short road excursions from the camp. Delegates will be safely housed in the modern camp and will be offered a mid-week excursion to hydrological and soil research sites in this pristine savannah.
